SOLAR FIELD AT BRIDGEWATER CORRECTIONAL FACILITY

IBEW Local Union 223 and Lumus Construction are installing a 135 kw solar field at the Bridgewater Correctional Facility. This particular solar field project consists of 502 modules at 224 watts per panel.

Our apprenticeship training program has adapted to the new emerging technologies such as wind and solar generated power by providing training to our apprentices and journeyman electricians. Local 223 has embraced the concept of clean renewable energy. We have recognized the demand for trained professionals to perform installations of this caliber which is why we offer unique career opportunities to all men and women who choose to enter into our apprenticeship program.

Local 223 Softball Team

There has been an interest in starting a softball team. Membership Development Director Brian Callahan along with Brother Tim Price are going to hold an informational meeting to discuss the team and the league that they will be playing in. At the end of the season the team would like to participate in Local 25's tournement in Long Island at the end of August.

At this meeting, they are looking for participants for the team and discuss how the costs for uniforms and the trip can be offset. Anyone interseted in becoming a member of the softball team is asked to attend the informational meeting on Wednesday March 12th at 5 PM at the Union Hall (this is before the Union meeting).
